The ICI-CPR partnership is an important part of CPR’s initiatives to facilitate research on China. As the representative of the India China Institute (ICI) in India, the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) supports all ICI activities in India including selection for and management of the India China Fellowship Program. In association with other partners, CPR organizes the annual symposium for emerging scholars, China Conversations. It also supports the ERSEH initiative funded by the Luce Foundation and the ICKCBI programme sponsored by the Ford Foundation.

The India China Institute (ICI) is based at The New School, a university in the heart of New York City. It fosters study, research, and connections between India, China, and the United States—countries that increasingly share interests and challenges, but have not yet been fully engaged in trilateral conversations. ICI is the hub of an international network of institutions and activities that nurtures these conversations and deepens our understanding of global processes.

The Centre for Policy Research (CPR) is an independent and non-partisan research institute and think tank. Established in 1973, it is one of the 27 national social science research institutes recognized by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Government of India.. The Centre conceives its larger role as one of stimulating advanced thinking on major policy issues and suggesting alternative policy options.
